The Church and Record Society already have on display the names of men and women from the Parish who fought in WW1. Unhappily some of these did not survive but all who served their country are named on the rolls of honour on the south wall of St. Margaret’s Church.
Unfortunately there is no such list of the men and women who served in WW2, nor in any other theatre of conflict following this time. We feel this is an omission that should be rectified whilst their names are still familiar to families and friends and we would ask you to help us in this task.
Should you have any family member or friend from the Parish of Bethersden who served their country in WW2 or in any following conflict then please let us know so that their names may be entered on an additional Roll of Honour, suitably framed and displayed within the Church.
The information we require is as follows :
BRANCH OF THE ARMED FORCES: RAF / ARMY/ROYAL NAVY/ROYAL MARINES ETC.
AREA OF CONFLICT
DATE OF BIRTH
Please forward the information as soon as possible to Bert Kingsnorth, 15, Shirk Oak Park, Woodchurch TN26 3RP
Thank you in advance for any response and we trust you will agree this information will be a useful addition to the history of the Village
