With regret the Bethersden VE Day committee have postponed the celebrations previously planned for 8 – 10th of May due to the present virus crisis. It has been pencilled in for the date of VJ Day in late summer subject to the present crisis being over. Further details will be published when available.

The Parish Council will be hosting a Fete in Bethersden on 8th, 9th and 10th May 2020 to support the National 75th year Victory in Europe Day commemorations. The celebrations will be hosted on The George Field, Bethersden and there will be various events and activities taking place.

Friday 8th May 2020
2:55 pm – The Last Post will be sounded by buglers across the country
3:00 pm – The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WWII – raise your glass
6:55 pm – A Cry for Peace around the World
7:00 pm – Ringing out for Peace – bell ringing
7:00 pm onwards – CELEBRATIONS!

10:30 am – Church Services of Celebration and Commemoration. This time has been set for churches and cathedrals across the country to celebration the peace we share today.
