Temporary Overnight Road Closures – A28 Ashford Road, Great Chart, Ashford – 2-4 November 2020
Overnight closures of part of A28 Ashford Road, Great Chart, Ashford are planned from Monday 2 November 2020 for up to 3 weekday nights, from 8.00 pm through until approximately 5.00 am each night.
A28 Ashford Road will be closed for up to 100 metres either side of the junction with Sandy Lane, to the actual extent indicated on site.
~ There will be no direct access between Ashford and Tenterden using the A28 during these works ~
The alternative route for all through traffic is via Chilmington Green Road, Magpie Hall Road, Tally Ho Road, Woodchurch Road, Plurenden Road, Bethersden Road (Woodchurch) and Woodchurch Road.
Local access to the remainder of A28 Ashford Road continues from either direction up to where the road is actually closed.
Sandy Lane will be closed at its junction with A28 Ashford Road as and when indicated, with access to the remainder of Sandy Lane via Vitters Oak Lane.
The closures are to enable Kent County Council to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works.
Some delays are likely, especially earlier in the evenings, so it is recommended that motorists allow extra time for their journeys or consider using alternative routes during these works.
