The Parish Council has received a request for help from your local (Pluckley) Kent Fire & Rescue Service Community Volunteer. If you are able to help please contact Nick Packham on his mobile number which is shown at the end of this message.
Statistics are telling us that people over the age of 65 are three times more likely to have a fire in the home and twice as likely to die in a fire in the home.
Your local volunteer has been asked to target local communities in providing home
safety advice and talks. It would be helpful to track down all groups, societies and clubs etc to arrange to give the groups some education on home fire safety, this is normally done by visits and engaging with the clubs.
There is a free range of services and advice to people that fit the
criteria, for example smoke alarms.
In our bid to reduce Deaths and Serious injury from RTC’s, we now also attend more Road Traffic Collisions than fires, the vulnerable groups in this area are 16-25 year olds.
We also have a presentation to demonstrate to this target group what we are
rolling out, so I would be most great full if you could provide details on
any of the groups, clubs etc that fall into the 16-25 bracket. We will also
include this presentation to any Club, groups etc who would like it.
I am trying to make a difference in the communities that we live in, as any
of the above events has a major impact on people’s lives, so if you can help
me by providing any information, leads etc I would be most great full.
I am happy to come along to any of club or society meetings and meet face to face and provide any additional information if required.
Many thanks for your help in advance.
